Skagit County Boat Yard

Example Projects

Skagit County Boat Yard

Element was retained to provide environmental sampling services for a boat yard in Skagit County following our completion of a Phase 1 ESA. The assessment was conducted to document existing conditions via environmental sampling of soils within the working boat yard, and to determine baseline environmental site conditions for future tenant liability. Preliminary actions included a review of past work and related documentation, devising a strategic sampling and analysis plan, and conducting initial field reconnaissance to demarcate known past and present features/uses of relevance. Element coordinated, observed, and documented 17 push-probe borings (geoprobe) to directly assess and sample subsurface conditions for potential contamination. Among the locations sampled were 5 target areas of concern and 12 representative background locations. Samples were submitted for laboratory testing of contaminants of concern, including Petroleum products, PCBs & PAHs, VOCs, TBT, and priority metals. Element interpreted laboratory results with respect to governing criteria, provided the client with clear documentation of sampling methods and procedures, mapped accurate sampling locations with GPS, and prepared a summary report of the findings.
