Clam Fresh Properties

Element performed Phase I ESAs for a clam and oyster farm operating at multiple locations in the southern Puget Sound. We determined the presence of several minor RECs at one site, and worked with the client to execute direct remediation measures to remove contaminated soil and conditions of concern from the site. Following regulatory review by the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) during the Fee-to-Trust application, Element performed soil sampling for suspected petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at locations of remaining concern. A targeted soil sampling plan was developed in coordination with the BIA. Testing indicated that contaminant levels were below actionable levels defined by Washington State Department of Ecology MTC Method A cleanup standards and it was concluded that the contamination had been remediated. Element provided final testing reporting for review and acceptance by the BIA.
